Thinking

I’m sitting a lot on the train. I like observing people. I think about my surroundings and I sometimes try to wonder and predict what happens in their lives? There is a young woman next to me and she is writing on a piece of paper. I don’t want to know what she writes but I rather think about why does she write it on the train? What is it for? She didn’t have time at home or is she a chronic writer? I do not know and I stop to care.

I see an elderly man wearing a face mask. He stares at the ground and his clothes look like he recently lost some weight. He has a worried look on his face. I hope he is ok. Maybe he has a lot of stress or worries of other kinds? I wish him the best of luck!

I sometimes catch myself pondering about causes of their situations. But that leads to speculations and unjust thoughts. I try not to continue.

Maybe not thinking would be best? Hmmm, I do meditate a lot. You can nearly meditate while doing anything really.

However, not thinking at all fills up newspapers. Lucky for me, because I like reading news.
Somebody refused thinking about their actions and then blows him / herself up killing many and injuring more.

The news are full with none thinkers thanks to the refrainers of thought.

When did people stop thinking?

The answer hurts a little.

People stopped caring or respecting others. That’s when.

Please think before you act and let’s give some journalists a chance to get a productive job.

Thank you for your time.

New Year

Ahh the new year in all it’s beauty! Here, New Year is the most important and biggest holiday of the year! Therefore, celebration is lenghty and has many symbolic traditions that are enjoyed. I was fortunate enough to have had a very traditional holiday here! I would love to talk in detail about it IF you tell me about your traditional New Year celebration! Deal? Good – get typing …

2012 is the end of the world….

Ok, I have been reading a lot about doomsday and the end of the world. However, lately I see a lot with 2012 in the headlines. I read about it on the internet and even saw a “documentary” about it. It seems clear that the entire world will go BOOM in 2012.

Says who?

I would like to know who, besides Hollywood (for marketing their movie), came up with this BS?

Think about it….if this was true then people would go berserk on a larger scale. For example, I would get 10 credit cards, buy anything I need, shoot Bush, and enjoy, because I do not need to repay the credit cards, and until lawyers made up their mind regarding legal action for my murder, all will go BOOM!

Yeah, please think again!

Try to remember who spread those moron theories.

==I also challenge any reader to convince me otherwise by using the scientific method.==

The world will not end in 2012 or anytime soon. These are common doomsday theories made up to spread fear and terror; aka. terrorism on a sci-fi basis.

Are you green?

Do you walk or drive to work? Did you throw away your trash? Did you recycle?
These questions seem to add up lately and you might wonder why?

‘Being green’ had been around since the 80′s really. Yeah? I’d say people were more green before ‘being green’ was invented.

Well, I watched an old documentary by my favorite British naturalist and I noticed something rather odd. Nope, they did not have two headed elephants back then, but he was talking about how humans increased and spread “… a mere 600,000,000 people are living currently on this earth”!
There is your problem. That was a docu from the early 80′s. We are now reaching, after we have surpassed the age of technology, the age of trash.

We are nearly + – 7 billion humans. That’s 7,000,000,000 in fun numerals. We multiplied more than seven times in the last 40 years. Good job!

Just one problem… if everyone eats a bar of chocolate – that makes 7,000,000,000 wraps of chocolate bar. Where do you put that? In the trash with the other 7,000,000,000 pieces of trash from the week.
Welcome to the age of trash.

So I understand that many people believe trash is not an issue, but it is! It’s one way of blowing our resources out the window.

Let’s do easy math.
I have a nice super good lemon cake and I will eat it alone and I’m happy. Then my friend calls and invites himself. The entire cake will be split in 2. Great, I’m gonna get full and I could safe half of my share for tomorrow. Suddenly, the door rings and my other friends come for a visit. We share the cake equally in 6 pirces. I might get full eating my share slowly BUT I won’t be able to safe any.
My lovely landlord invites himself as well – bringing his wife, 3 children, and a dog.
Now we share the cake by 12. I don’t think I need a plate for that. A fork might do.

I think you get my point.

If there is a big resource of something then you can/have to use it responsibly.
I could have, for example, told all to get out and eat their own cake. I could also have gone out and bought more cake and more and more till there is no more …

Regardless of my choice- using your resource responsibly is most important.
One cake for 7,000,000,000? Ouch!
So, I blame many things from overpopulation to agriculture, but that won’t change anything now.
We gotta start thinking further than just recycling or walking to work. With 7,000,000,000 people we HAVE to think further.

What can you do to become green, help the current situation, and have a good life?

Change things around you! Change to Eco lightbulbs and even safe lots money and reduce your carbon production. Use natural cleaners. I tested many and, some are weird, but many are great! I exchanged nearly all products to Eco friendly ones. Yes, they may cost a bit more but they do not contain harmful byproducts that damage nature or myself. I can clean the bath without getting a headache. I wash my face, brush my teeth, and take meds and all products are natural. They don’t contain any of the 94% untested chemicals that surround us.

That makes me feel so great! I can do things with a good conscience.

Again, I’m the defender of the forest.

Please- try to make some little changes. I’m more than happy to give you a list of products or other advices.

Thank you for taking your time to make a change.

Thank you!

Thank you for reading my blog.

Giving thanks and respecting others is a key factor in life. I respect every person. My Buddhist nature tells me to do so.
Regardless, I respect nature more because she is making our life possible.

Ever wondered why I have this view?

Yes, Buddhism teaches me to show respect to all beeings. That means ALL!!
It is hard at times. That is why you meditate. To focus your mind as hard as possible on something?
Nah, but that’s what most people do.

Key in meditation is not to focus on something but rather on nothing!
What you see, hear, and feel during meditation should be acknowledged and then ‘let go’ without any evaluation.
Why?
Why, it helps!
Point is not to harden your thoughts because they may lead to suffering of others or self.

If I focus on how stupid something is then I soon will find myself hating it.
Why waste all your energy?
Just acknowledge it and don’t evaluate it.
Instead, look at it from a non-dualistic perspective.
For example: there is this guy sitting next to me on the train and he keeps talking loud on his cell phone.
I have two options now – either I get mad and tell him that he is an asshole who should burn in hell
OR
I try to listen and acknowledge it without any evaluation and think about his happiness.

Got it?

Let’s move on.

I walk a lot. I often see very nice houses that are taken care of with lots of money/care.
Again, I have two options – either I start wondering why my shag ain’t nearly that nice and then I get pissed at XYZ because of it, grow anger and jealousy, and later on break in that house because I wanted a new flat screen anyway
OR
I look at it and appreciate the beauty and admire the people who take good care of the plants and that’s it.
I’m thankful they built a house like that and I’m happy they grow beautiful trees there for me to admire.

There is no need to become jealous and bad tempered because they have something we want and don’t have.
You can get it if you really need it. There is always a good way.

Moving on…

Recently I read about politicians actually trying to save our beautiful planet. I read this article earlier today about Chancellor Merkel of Germany. She held a speech infront if the US congress today ( good luck Angela ) to talk about the coming anniversary regarding the fall of the Berlin wall.
However, she also said: “creating freedom and security, creating prosperity and justice. And it means protecting our planet.”

I was very happy to hear her take this big step. I was so happy that I sent her an email saying ‘Thank you’ and that I was hoping that the rest of Europe will follow soon.

I’m sure that a staff will read it BUT I’m sure that she will, between her busy schedule, hear about this email. It’s not so common for people to thank others. Many times we take it for granted. I hope I can make her as happy as she made me – at least!

I’m not holy myself but I try.

I want you to take some time to thank people for doing things.
I thank everybody on this planet for loving and respecting others. I thank all who make you happy!
I thank you for your help, time, and efforts!
Thank you!

Thank you for protecting animals and plants!

Thank you for thinking about this.

I remember…

I remember days…

I breath in the cool fresh air in this forest. I’m still looking for more chestnuts. I love chestnuts! I can smell the humid aroma of the forest floor that’s now covered with leaves. It has a round flavor consisting of woody notes, wet earth tones, leaves garnished with spicy needles, several mosses, and finally the fresh air.
It takes a great focus to find the hidden stingy treats, but it’s worth it for chestnuts.

I found a whole bunch and I carry as many chestnuts that my little jacket can hold.

I am thrilled with excitement.
I feel how the fresh air blows against my checks, instantly flushing them in a pale red. I don’t need to worry.

In the vecinity I hear some movements. Is it somebody else hunting for chestnuts?
No, I see nobody.

There – I smell this familiar fine fragrance coming from a little gift nearby. While my eyes scan the leafed hill, I can barely spot what my nose first discovered. There it is. Rather small but packed. I found a little bush of wild blueberries. What a desert!
Now I’m rather hungry and I begin peeling of the skin of a raw chestnut. It’s not the best but not too bad either.

I remember days…

I wake up in my kids room. It’s early and everybody is still sleeping. I slowly open the blinds of my huge windows and sudden joy overcomes me. It’s close to Christmas, I think, and I see lots of snow. The river is covered and the bridge and parkinglots seem untouched. A big white blanket coveres everything. I stay quiet for a long time because I don’t want to wake nobody. I am standing on the heater with socks and my PJ and I’m watching the snow and the few out and about.

I go down to the big park and I sink deep in to the snow. Boy what a joy. I’m throwing snowballs and my hands are cold. I am happy. I’m happy.
Not because of my burning hands, but because of the snow. Later on I’ll get a hot cup of chocolate and mandarins and all my pain will be washed away.
What a joy. I’m happy!

Snow!

I remember…

My entire class is on tour. I’m not sure where we are but I see green hills, little streams, and small villages. I know it’s a day trip and we will walk a lot. I have tea in my backpack and some food. We are walking for a while now and I’m dragging a tall stick behind me to leave a long line in the fine peppled path through the forest. It’s warm but not hot. We make a rest on a big tree stem lying on it’s side along the path. It’s peaceful here and you hear kids and teachers talk.
Now we were told to take a snack break and I can’t wait to discover what I would find in my backpack.
I have a cheese sandwich on a fresh farmers bread and some sweaty Edammer. It’s a bit spicy so I take one of the tomatoes and bite in it. My mouth is in complete harmony as I suck in the jellied seeds and bite in my bread. The perfect symphony – the juice of the sweet tomato and my bread.
I eat a hard egg and drink my rosehip tea.
We are playing an exciting game in the woods and my team is hiding. We have 5 more minutes to find a good spot. There, I found an old derooted tree trunk and we will hide there. I grab some old branches and try to make a cover over our heads so we are less obvious.

We hear the whistle. They are searching for us now. We all get nervous. I squad down and hold my head low. I can smell the forest very strong now because of the pine branches over us and the rotten trunk that’s growing mushrooms. Little bugs are crawling around. My heart is pounding. I can hear a group moving. They are close. I feel how cold this hiding spot really is. I get a tingling feeling that runs down my spine and I stop breathing.

Forest!

I remember…

A lot from my childhood. I love to remember  lately because those things that made my, and others, childhood so special – are on the road to extinction.

I remember…

Climbing in trees a lot. I loved the smell of the bark especially once you reached the top. I would dream of treehouses and a life totally spend in trees. I’d go there to think about problems. I used to go there to hide from others and to enjoy silence. I’d bring food with me and even took naps. I was always the fastest up on a tree and always tried my best not to harm him at all.

Tree!

I would collect herbs and leaves to make magic drinks or I would eat some daisies or honeysuckles.

This was my childhood.
These are memories of a child.
This is what made me!
I am a defender of the forest and I love and respect nature more than people.

Some day I will have a child. It is my duty to care for it and provide a beautiful childhood.
I’m scared however. Not from responsibilities, but I’m scared to have my poor baby have memories of house forests, subways, TV, games, global warming, global epidemics, economic crisis, dying whales, sick forests, poverty, capitalism, depression, etc

Please, don’t recycle for me. Don’t use less carbon for me. Don’t use nontoxic cleaners for me. Please don’t use herbal meds/remedies for me. Don’t walk or use the train for me. Don’t do anything for me.

Do it for yourself and your children. Give them a place to dream and love.
Give them what many don’t have – dreams and memories.

Thank you for your time.

Want curry? Swallow pill!

I find it interesting to hear once again how potent and helpful ethnobotany is. Again, one super old spice comes to the rescue. Curcumin, a spice found in common curry, is said to kill esophagus cancer cells AND digest itself. Yay for nature. I wonder why people waste their money on chemicals when natural remedies actually help. Remember, plants are easier on your body than chemical bombs. Stay healthy!

Till economic growth will do us part

It’s inspiring to read that people stay married, regardless of conflicts, because they are broke. That sounds idyllic if you think about it. Think back to the origination of “The American Dream”. People were married not for love but convenience. Those somehow formed amazingly good families. People learned that conflicts will not drive them apart ( how spoiled! ) but bond them tighter together especially when they have no way of escape. I tell ye, the family as we remember might make another reappearance. Blessed be the wealthy for their greed! Source link

Procrastination : Human as Human : You

So I was reading this article

and was not/surprised.

We ALL should have started 40 years ago when the first scientists were laughed at when they first made the discoveries.

Copenhagen is nice and good but a bit late. Yeah, asking rich nations to pay poor ones to diminish more global warming hazards is noble but 40 years late.

I’ll sit back and enjoy the summertime in January.

The making of a human

Let’s see, humans have two arms, two legs, two eyes, two ears, two personalities….WHAAAT?

I do pay my respects to Hitler in an odd way. Yes, he is said to have done horrible things

( killed nearly all Jews, his wife, etc. ), but he has also done many good things ( autobahn, economic growth, VW, Audi, explore myths, etc. ).

Don’t get me wrong, I do not salut the Führer before breakfast, but he did accomplish many good things for the German people.

The paradox is only that he was a vegetarian and murderer, esoteric and blaspheme, caring and hating, etc…… now the last of his close buddies died and YES I would like to read his diaries. Why? Speculations lead to myths and those become legends…..or facts.

I like facts.
